Runway

A couple of weeks ago (omg…I'm so behind on blogging it's embarrassing) the girls
wanted to get dressed up and do a runway show.
It was very sweet and was a lovely prequel to a week or so later
when they were having another "make-over" party and
Maddie so lovingly cut both of them bangs…a story for another day  :-)

Pretzel (Our Elf on the Shelf) overseeing Craft Time

This is Pretzel, she is our Elf on the Shelf.
She moves around everyday and brings a note and a book every morning.
Maddie loves her, Ella seems fairly ambivalent, and I almost forgot to move her last night…
oops, I may have signed up for more than I can handle,
but cross my fingers I haven't totally forgotten yet. :-)
Yesterday Pretzel magically transported herself to the craft table
so she got to oversee craft time.

We made homemade play dough and added some colors and essential oils.
Maddie picked blue for her ball and Ella chose yellow.
I used the Serenity Oil Blend from Doterra for the scent.

Recipe, if you're interested:

Serenity Scented Playdough

  • 1 Cup of Flour
  • 1/4 Cup of Salt
  • 1 TBSP of Cream of Tartar
  • 1/2 Cup of warm water
  • Serenity Essential Oil Blend (Or oil of your choice, I used lavender once, that was wonderful)
  • Opt:  Food Coloring
Mix your flour, salt, and the cream of tartar.

If you are making one color then add your
food coloring and oil to your warm water and then mix with flour blend
If you want to make 2 or more colors then just add the
 water to your dry mix.

If you chose to make 2 or more colors, then separate dough into 2 (or more) balls
and form a well in the middle of the ball.  Add 5-10 drops of coloring and 1 drop of oil into well.
Mix and roll until color and scent are mixed through.  Then enjoy!

Super easy and the girls think that it's great fun!
