The Many Faces of Maddie

This cycle of faces was in a span of oh….10 seconds?
Being 5 is very dramatic and emotional in case ya didn't know ;-)

Also, these were taken on her birthday, and she was mad at
me because she thought I was being mean and forcing her to take pictures…

I am a meanie…
maybe I should change my blog name to Meanie Photography?

Meanie Photography; forcing kids to say cheese since 2009…
Hmmmm…I like it :-)

She buckled her helmet by herself.  She wanted to be sure that I documented it.

Maddie's super fancy cake…this years theme was "Let kids decorate cake"
My laziness has rose to a whole new level…
but also, they did a pretty superb job.  I was impressed.

Mike brought home some GORGEOUS roses for Miss Maddie, so pretty.
They are still alive a whole week later, which is a green thumb success for our family.

Denver Zoo Trip

Since it is almost her birthday I thought it would be fun if
Maddie got to pick our family activity of the weekend.

Out of the options presented, the zoo was her favorite
choice.  So we hustled out of the house
(well we left by noon…hustled may be embellishing a bit)
braved the weekend/summer/construction traffic and got ourselves to the zoo!

It was way more fun than any of the other times we have gone before.
Both girls were super into the animals, but Ella was really enthralled.
 Especially with the monkeys
…and the monkey poo…
ah, two year olds.

Luckily Mike is on the same maturity level,
so they had a good conversation in which "poop!" and "grosshh"
were said often and quite loudly
…amusing the other patrons I'm sure. :-)

We ended the day with snow cones, because Maddie asked so sweetly.  :-)
She knows how to work me…
and also...
can you believe that this girl is almost 5!?
whaaaattttt?!?!
