50-54/365

This last week was a bit much for me.
It has been insanely windy, but sunny out.
I stared wistfully out the window wishing we could go outside,
and occasionally attempted it, but then end up hiding inside most of the week.

As a result, the girls have been a bit stir crazy.

So this weekend Mike and I took them to downtown Denver to go to the Aquarium.
We had a blast for a couple of hours, had a lunch break, and then headed to Ikea for a "quick" jaunt.

HA!  I think we left 6 hours later.

It's a (delicious) black hole that sucks you in.
We did end up finding a dresser for our room,
and tv cabinet and bookcase for the living room so it was a successful trip overall.
The girls were so hungry afterwards that they both ate a hotdog
(which I have never seen Maddie do and didn't expect Ella to do)
and then fell asleep for the night on the drive home.

Which was probably my favorite part of the day ;-)

50/365 "Tunnel Slides"
This was my sweet children's idea for indoor entertainment…
pop up tunnel + couch = indoor slide.
It worked, it entertained them for a good hour!
51/365 "Preschool Pickup"
This was taken after Ella and I had just picked Maddie up from preschool.
This is a church next to her school, they have a great row of trees along the street
that are going to be beautiful in the spring, I can't wait to see them!
52/365 "He thought it would be funny"
I asked for a picture of the three of them and this is what I got :-)
I think this pretty much sums up Mike's humor style!
53/365 "Trip to the Aquarium"
This was pretty much the only salvagable shot I got at the aquarium,
I brought the wrong lens and couldn't really figure out the low light situation without using flash,
which I felt like I shouldn't do in there, but oh well!
54/365 "Little & Big Red"
I still needed my shot of the day today, and I timed it pretty perfectly…
the sun was just going down and I got some pretty sweet sun flare.
We only last about 15 minutes outside because it was getting chilly.
And when I say "we" I mean "me"
because my children inherited their father's internal temperature and don't get cold…
I pretty much got cold instantly….
Ella wasn't wearing pants and cried when I brought her in because she didn't want to come in yet. :-)
I CANNOT state enough how ready I am for summer!
